How to use screens and whiteboards
Screens
Screens can be used in two ways:
1. Browse preconfigured screens
In some cases, your teacher or facilitator has already placed a document or presentation on the screen.
- Use the arrows to flip through the document.
- Right click to zoom in.
- Point and press spacebar to zoom in create a personal copy.
2. Share your own webcam, desktop or documents
You can also add your own content to the screen, via the following steps:
- Use the 'Tools' or 'Place' button in the toolbar to share your webcam, screen or upload a document.
- Wait for the document to appear in the space (this can take a while for larger documents and on slower networks),
- Pick up the document and move it into the blue square to snap it to the screen

Whiteboards
Whiteboards allow you to brainstorm or sketch out ideas using the 'pen' tool or small notes. They may have been equipped with a specific brainstorming template by your teacher or facilitator.
- Activate the pen tool by clicking on 'Tools>Pen'. Deactive by clicking again, or use 'Esc'
- Click on the 'Note' to add a note to the space. You can pick it up to move around, or press space to scale and or rotate (by dragging the buttons with the 'rotate' and 'scale' arrows).
- Use Shift+Q to change the color of the pen and CTRL-Z to remove your last strokes. See the complete controls overview for more actions.
