How do I move an object?
- To move an object, select it in the viewport.
- Use the first button in the menu bar or click 'T'.
- You will see colored arrows and squares around the object.
- Grab and drag an arrow to move the object along that direction.
- Click on a square to move the object in that square's plane. This makes it easy to move objects across the floor while maintaining the same height.
- You can also change the position by manually typing coordinates. Do this in the 'Properties window' on the right while the object is selected.
- A useful trick is to drag the mouse with the left button held down over X, Y, or Z to move the object along that axis.
- In the menu bar, you'll find additional tools to help position objects.
- The magnet button determines if objects snap to the grid when moved.
- The grid is the pattern of white lines you see in your design. It's a tool to help align objects and isn't visible when visiting your project.
- When the magnet is on, objects snap from point to point on the grid when moved.
- When the magnet is off, you can place objects anywhere you want.
- In the box next to the magnet, you can set the grid dimensions.
- The last box lets you set the grid height, which can be useful when placing objects in the air or on a higher floor.
